November 15th, 2012
On November 2, 2012 our very own Chief Kevin Belk, President of the BGCGRYC Board of Directors, was gifted with a very special award! Enhanced Learning Opportunities (ELO) Network presented him with the Advocate Leader Award at their annual meeting at FIfth Third Ball Park.
This award is given to a person who is a legislator or community leader who has actively shown an interest in afterschool programs for children; has worked with the ELO Network to advocate for public policy; and has collaborated with funding resources to support local after school programs for children. Past recipients have been State Representatives Jerry Kooiman and Tom Pearce, State Senator Bill Hardiman, State Senator Mark Jansen, U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, Congressman Vernon J. Ehlers, City Commissioner Elias Lumpkins, and Michigan Afterschool Partnership Director Mary Sutton.
Congratulation Chief! You rock!
