August's Youth of the Month!
August 18th, 2015
Our Youth of the Month (YOM) program spotlights a Club member who truly represents the mission of our Clubs. Staff will decide on a YOM based on their involvement in different activities and behavior. It is a program that helps to build our participation in the national Youth of the Year program.
Congratulations to AUGUST's Youth of the Month Winners:
Steil Club (Elementary): Kaysen
Why Staff Selected Kaysen: Kaysen started off feeling a little shy this summer. She waited an entire week after her brother started coming to the Steil Club before she decided she wanted to go. After she made that decision, she was happy and comfortable. She made a lot of friends and started helping out in the Game Room without being asked. She is always respectful and is a good example to others!
Steil Club (Teen): Damien
Why Staff Selected Damien: Damien is a respectful young man who looks out for his family and others. He walks his younger sibling home every day without complaining. He helps out in the gym without being asked. He is the first teen we pick for field trips because we know he will help keep other members in line.
Paul I. Phillips Club: Kaila
Why Staff Selected Kaila: One of the things that the staff and the students look forward to each summer is the return of Kaila and her brother. During the school year Kaila lives in Florida, but she spends her summers in Grand Rapids and visits the Paul I. Phillips Club every day. She is always kind and funny and is excited to try any new opportunity we may have for her. We wish her and her brother a great school year, and we can't wait to see them again next summer.
Seidman Club: Reuben
Why Staff Selected Reuben: Reuben is always helpful around the Seidman Club. He is the example of what a Club member should be. Reuben's future is bright!
