Stretching out this Summer with YOGA!

It's official, Summer is here at the Clubs and so is great new programming! Officer Connie Moore and staff member Ashten Wilkey started teaching yoga at all three Club locations on Tuesday, June 11th. Every Tuesday for ten weeks, they will build on yoga poses accompanied by breath and flow. Their goals are to get fit, boost self-esteem and confidence, reduce negative reactions to stress, spend time together, and have fun. After ten weeks all three Clubs will join together in a yoga class and have a party.

"This week we had an amazing time," said Ashten. "Already, the kids are playing around with poses and making them their own, teaching each other. On the first day! I think they felt really special to be there. It’s only an hour, but they kept asking when I was coming back."

The teachers will be rotating weekly among the sites. And when Officer Connie or Ashten can't make it, April Kidd will be substituting at Paul I. Phillips; Mayra Cardenas at Steil, and Suzan Guben at Seidman.
