Comcast Cares Day
May 2nd, 2016
On April 30th, our local Comcast branch celebrated Comcast Cares Day at our Steil Club. We had about 80 volunteers that helped clean-up our garden and other outdoor areas, cleaned and organized all of our programming areas, built first aid kits, decorated cards, and more.
Comcast Cares Day is a celebration of the company’s year-round commitment to service, and has grown to become the nation’s largest single-day corporate volunteer event. In 2015, more than 100,000 volunteers improved more than 900 parks, schools, beaches, senior centers and other vital community sites. Since 2001, more than 700,000 Comcast NBCUniversal employees, their friends, family members and our community partners have volunteered more than 4 million service hours at nearly 6,800 projects in communities across the United States and around the world.
“Comcast Cares Day is truly an amazing day. We are honored to have several of these volunteers right here in our Grand Rapids community, helping at our Steil Boys & Girls Club," said Volunteer & Special Event Manager Elyse Mathos. "We had such a fun day with Comcast employees, their families, Club members, and community members while helping to prepare our garden for planting, beautify our facility, and much more. Thank you to all of the amazing volunteers who helped make this day such a success!”
